“London, 1st Aug. - The crew of British bark "Low Wood" at Limerick for Deleware, mutinied. The mate was stabbed and is in a dying condition and two seamen received dangerous wounds. The mutiny was quelled by the police. The "Low Wood", Capt. Saunders, bark of 1091 tons, belongs to Troop & Sons. The mate is Frank P. TRITES s/o John S. TRITES, I.C.R. Trackmaster of Moncton (West. Co.) who receieved a message on Saturday confirming the news. He recently passed examination at the Marine School in St. John. (see original)”51

In 1884 became master of the 1,200 ton ship "Success".241

Later Captain of the barque “Stillwater”, as mentioned in his father’s obituary.51
