FLAHERTY, Bernard Joseph - Passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on Wednesday December 2, 2015. Bernie Flaherty of London and Erin was in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Christine Flaherty. Loving father and best friend to Paul (Helen) Flaherty, Dave (Alina) Flaherty, Joanne (Mark) Campbell, John (Betty Anne) Flaherty, Marianne (Dave) Harrison and Michael (Gaitanne) Flaherty. Dear brother of Ken, Doran, and Mary. Proud grandpa and biggest fan of 21 wonderful grandkids who love him dearly and who Bernie cherished. Michael Flaherty, Mark Flaherty, Ryan (Courtney) Flaherty, Geoffrey Campbell, Sheila Flaherty, Katelyn (Colin) Campbell, Jaclyn Flaherty, Taylor Campbell, Anna Flaherty, Wesley Campbell, Mitchell Harrison, Craig Flaherty, Kelly Flaherty, Sharon Flaherty, Brittany Harrison, Jonathan Harrison, Quentin Campbell, Christine Flaherty, Jenna Harrison, Katherine Flaherty and Giulia Flaherty. Bernie was a role model for all and a best friend to many. He always had a kind word and a smile on his face and was so full of life. We know that there are many people who have been touched by Bernie and who are deeply pleased and honoured to have been a part of his life. He was loved by many but the love he showed, and what he gave of himself, was his greatest gift. He will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends for Visitation at the BUTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME , 5399 Main St South, Erin on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass to be held on Saturday December 5th at 11:00 am at St. Cornelius Roman Catholic Church , 16631 Kennedy Road, Caledon L7C - 2H9 (Hamlet of Silvercreek), followed by a gathering of family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to L'Arche and Covenant House.
