Halifax Chronicle Herald June 17, 1969:
”James B. Kierstead, 58 Hickman Street, Amherst, died Saturday in Highland View Hospital. He was 78 years of age, born in Forest Hill, New Brunswick, son of the late Mr. And Mrs. Alfred Kierstead. He is survived by his wife the former Aletha Currie; one daughter Mamie (Mrs. George MacDougall) , Victoria BC; one son John Kierstead, Sudbury, Ont.; Two step sons W. Bruce Logan, Halifax, Allan Logan , Fredericton; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Powers, Moncton; Myrtle, Mrs. Arnold McNamara, Rothesay, NB; six brothers Joseph Shediac Road; William, Ellerslie, P.E.I.; Charles, Palmyra, Me; Perry, Danvers, M ass; Fred, Painsec; Russell, Shediac Road; 11 grandchildren and step- grandchildren. The body is resting at Furlong's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 2 p m, conducted by Rev. H.O. MacGeorge . Burial will take place in the Amherst cemetery”93
