David Hoops, 1748/49-18--?, second son of Adam and Elizabeth Hoops, also attended the University of Pennsylvania, married Mildred Syme in Virginia in cl775, had two sons, and became a widower in 1779. Both sons, one of whom was named John Syme Hoops, had died by 1804. Efforts to trace David Hoops after 1812, when he was left some money in his sister Jane Clark's will, have proved futile.261
