“John Wetmore Colpitts, went into a house of Mrs. Greta Phillips in Moncton, NB., as I'm told, to hire a man to do painting for him. He smelt gas, opening a door and struck a match. Which blew the house apart, killing her. The inquest into her death (The Evening Times & Star, Saint John, Friday, July 17, 1925) shows the gas company was working in the area and checked her house and finding all the pipes leaking, shut off the gas.
John Wetmore Colpitts lived until Tuesday, July 21, 1925, Source: Moncton Transcript July 22, & July 23, 1925.”
