Notes for Robert Colpitts
Sellaby was in Gainford Parish. The old family bible was said to have read “Shellaby, Crawford Parish”89 but so far I can find no record of a Crawford parish in that region so I suspect the handwriting may have been mistakenly interpreted by someone as Crawford although I have not seen the original. The IGI records clearly show his baptismal record from Gainford parish extracted from the original locality.90

Living with his wife and their 2 youngest sons in the 1851 census at Norton, Kings County, New Brunswick. The census lists his year of entry into the colony as 1783 and his is designated a Loyalist.84 Marked Infirm.84
