Notes for Myrtle Gertrude Givan
Her late birth registration is documented in the New Brunswick Archives51; there is a birth record for her in Fall River, Massachusetts stating May 30, 1892 but it notes she was in fact born in Canada.52 Either the family moved to the US just after her birth or they were living there already and Anna travelled back to Moncton for the birth.
-born prematurely and was kept in a box lined with cotton -wool as a young infant
-fiancé died of pneumonia, never married
-was a nurse companion to the Endicott family of Boston
-moved to Dedham, MA12 confirmed in her mother’s obituary.
-lived at 22 Dexter St., Malden, Mass. with her sister Lulu at one time.21
-We have a book plate (name label for a book) of Myrtle’s which shows the Givan Coat of Arms4
-listed in Frances Cecil Burt’s birthday book.1
